Insight
an insight distilled from an external source: the source is mandatory and an outgoing `-->` edge is STRONGLY ADVISED — 'where it was applied' is a live arrow, not a dead column

Rule
what + source — an outgoing `-->` edge is STRONGLY ADVISED. The mandatory claim was withdrawn on 2026-08-10 because its cited basis F-12 was defined nowhere, the engine never enforced the edge and sixty-two of ninety-eight live Insights carried no edge; declaring a rule broken in forty places keeps a green gate lying. The recommendation rests on the tree metaphor: a distilled insight should flow to the branch it feeds. Because an Insight is distilled from an external source it carries two optional fields: `date:` says which day it was distilled and `evidence:` names the concrete backing that supports it. Neither is mandatory, because not every insight can be dated or reduced to a single piece of evidence.
